i considered that, perhaps, it was not using the host-specific user name, but it makes no difference if i specify what i think is the correct user name explicitly in the svn command.
You should be able to get there.. i was able to ssh and get to your $HOME anyway:
dcrampsie@clnet:/home/janderson$
what is the exact common line you're using?

hello;
i had a couple updates to introduce into the svn repository, but i can't get there. if i try to use a svn+ssh://common-lisp.net/.... url or if i try to ssh to the host directly, i get the same error: no such file or directory. it has been a long time. do i still have an account? do i need a different host to ssh?
