So, what I am still missing is the permission to do CVS commits:
cvs [commit aborted]: could not open lock file `/project/cells-gtk/ cvsroot/root/cells-gtk/,cells-gtk.asd,': Permission denied
I assume what I need is a membership in the cells-gtk group. The permissions of the cells-gtk dir are "pdenno:cells-gtk":
phildebrandt@clnet:/project/cells-gtk$ ls -lad cvsroot drwxrwsr-x 8 pdenno cells-gtk 72 Jun 30 2006 cvsroot
but my group memberships are only "users"
phildebrandt@clnet:/project/cells-gtk$ groups users
So I assume what you need to do for me is an
addgoup phildebrandt cells-gtk
