I've identified what makes the -owner addition to the email address (the umbrella_member_suffix option) and I guess there is a reason for it being turned on. Nikodemus will know and hopefully enlighten us as he returns. In the mean time, you're subscribed and you should receive any emails sent to the mailinglist.

I've been thinking about it for a while, and while there might be reasons, It certainly is disfunctional as it is right now.
The only reason I can think of for this configuration is that if someone wants to subscribe a list, he does not want the confirmation message to go to the whole list.
