I just wanted to report that with the latest CVS checkins I believe Movitz basically runs under CMUCL (at least 18e which is the version I've got). The set of known lisp implementations that works with Movitz is now Allegro, SBCL, and CMUCL. The only implementation I've tried and not gotten to work is CLisp, which core-dumps some time during the build process. Note that there is in principle nothing that binds the Movitz development environment to the x86 platform. cl-typesetting is a complete typesetting system written in Common Lisp using cl-pdf for the direct generation of pdf files. This enables it to be powerful, extensible, programmable and fast. It is intended to be an alternative to the TeX like typesetting systems. >From the change log: February 08 2004: Release 0.7 Added put-source-code-string to be able to insert text with no hyphenation, significant whitespaces and newlines so that source code is formatted correctly. CL-PDF is a cross-platform Common Lisp library for generating PDF files. It does not need any third-party tools from Adobe or others. It is used by cl-typesetting to provide a complete typesetting system. >From the change log: 08 February 2004: Release 2.1 Added auto-generated tarballs of the current repository version Added custom encodings. [Thanks to Dmitri Ivanov] Fonts without font data. [Thanks to Dmitri Ivanov] Added a few with-standard-io-syntax so that the pdf are generated correctly when people change the printer settings. Added a :stacked-series option to the histograms. Changed zlib (again!) for dynamic loading of the library in delivered applications. Added a *default-encoding* special variable. Added pdf meta information to documents.[Thanks to Eric Marsden] Corrected handling of the min/max-value in the charts.[Thanks to Eric Marsden] Corrected pfb file loading.
