Finally, the branch which is about implementing a generic class file generator (en rewriting the compiler output generator in terms of it) has landed on trunk. These are the next steps: 1. Devise an api for external users - there are currently *no* exported symbols 2. Rewrite runtime-class.lisp in terms of this API, instead of the old ASM bytecode modifier library. Any takers? Next to the re-enabling of runtime-class.lisp, the other benefit of the branch is that it's now possible to create Java class files from the compiler which contain much more complicated (but hopefully better performing) method patterns. Hi again ... ABCL I want to fill a Java byte[] array. But I don't know how to correctly use JARRAY-SET (I should use it, right?): CL-USER(1): (defvar $*byte (jclass "byte")) $*BYTE CL-USER(2): (setf array (jnew-array $*byte 10)) #<jarray [B@7a2ee7e5 {1D7AAA0E}> CL-USER(3): (jarray-set array 1 0) #<THREAD "interpreter" {6E61A414}>: Debugger invoked on condition of type JAVA-EXCEPTION Java exception 'java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: argument type mismatch'. Restarts: 0: TOP-LEVEL Return to top level. [1] CL-USER(4): 0 CL-USER(5): (jarray-ref array 0) 0 So, a plain number "1" cannot work, but what else I can do? a object of java.lang.Byte? Hi, ABCL I already know how to declare a jconstructor or jmethod which has primitives as arguments: For example, for java.net.DatagramSocket, I have following declarations which works fine: (defvar $*int (jclass "int")) (defvar $*DatagramSocket (jclass "java.net.DatagramSocket")) (defvar $*InetAddress (jclass "java.net.InetAddress")) (defvar $%DatagramSocket/2 (jconstructor $*DatagramSocket $*int $*InetAddress)) (defvar $@close/DatagramSocket/0 (jmethod $*DatagramSocket "close")) ... But how can I declare java.net.DatagramPacket, whose constructor has a byte[] argument: public DatagramPacket (byte[] buf, int offset, int length) Just don't know how to represent "byte[]" ... [armedbear-devel] Working toward the 0.22 release?

Since it's now almost 2 months since we did our last release, it's time to work to the next one again. With regret I propose that we release what we currently have in trunk (unless someone quickly wants to do something about that). Then, after we branched, I'll merge the generic-class-writer branch to trunk meaning it should then be tested enough to be included in 0.23. Like any release, we need: * to update CHANGES * to create a release-notes html file * to make sure our code doesn't have regressions by running it through the Maxima test suite and the ANSI tests Volunteers for any of these steps, or maybe people wanting to perform other steps in addition? Hi everyone, Does ABCL support wild-inferiors in any way at all? DIRECTORY, which calls SYSTEM::LIST-DIRECTORIES-WITH-WILDCARDS, does not return a list of the whole subtree, although ABCL seems to understand the "**" notation for :wild-inferiors. Notably, asdf's :tree directive won't work, which was how I stumbled onto this.
