Hey folks, I've got a minimal program I'm trying to run: (require 'abcl-contrib) (require 'jss) (setf jss:*muffle-warnings* nil) (add-to-classpath #P"~/.m2/repository/io/javalin/javalin/3.13.10/") (jss:jar-import "javalin-3.13.10.jar") (let* ((port 8080) (app (#"start" (#"create" 'Javalin) port))) (begin (#"get" app (lambda (ctx) (#"result" ctx "Hello World"))))) When I run it: abcl --batch --noinform --load main.lisp I get the following exception when requiring jss I think. jssASDF could not load because Java exception 'java.lang.reflect.InaccessibleObjectException: Unable to make public java.lang.String java.util.jar .JarFile$JarFileEntry.getName() accessible: module java.base does not "opens java.util.jar" to unnamed module @1ece4432'.. Bug # 391

I don’t think I have the ability to comment on bugs in the issue tracker, or, if I do, I’ve not figured out how to do it. I hope sending mail to this list for the purpose is acceptable; apologies if not. I note that #391 was opened six years ago, but remains unfixed, and, apart from apparently being pushed off from release to release, seems not to have received any love for four years. I just wanted to add a note to it that it is still being encountered in the wild, and is, at least in one user’s case, causing some pain. File names containing asterisks may not be a good idea, but sometimes we have no control over the names of files we are given. It also means at least one (uiop:subdirectories), and probably many, UIOP functions sometimes fail in what can appear to be mysterious ways on ABCL, but not other implementations. Failed assertion about JVM:OFFSET trying to load something

Hi, I know it may be hard to see what's going on but, I'm trying to load a lisp file into Maxima compiled with ABCL, and I get the error shown below: The assertion (<= -32768 JVM::OFFSET 32767) failed. CI switched to GitHub Actions

A quick note that I have switched the [GitHub hosted CI from Travis to GitHub Actions][1], which is important with news today that Travis seems to have unexpectedly [completely abandoned open source CI][2]. GitHub Actions seems to provide reasonable support for testing things under Windows, which I haven’t fully explored, so there are even more reasons for this change. For developers, forking the GitHub repository from another GitHub account should give you access to the CI pretty much automatically. You just need to look at the results under the “Actions” tab when viewing your copy of the repository. CLOS MOP bug in 1.8.0

Feature request: command-line option to disable debugger

Many Lisp implementations (including CCL, CLISP and SBCL) have a command-line option that causes unhandled errors to terminate the Lisp process instead of invoking the debugger. This option is useful for programs that don't have irreplaceable valuable state in the heap, and that have users whose reaction upon seeing a debug REPL would be "How do I get out of this!?". Also, a few days ago someone on IRC mentioned having the problem that "if there is an error in the expression" the server thread "gets locked in the ABCL repl". I think his or her use-case might also benefit from a debugger-disabling switch. Happy Thanksgiving!
