Please note that r12444 is occurring on the "metaclass" branch. Did this failure really occur on the branch or on trunk? r12443 reverted the clos.lisp changes which broke the ANSI-TESTs, so your reverting clos.lisp should not have succeeded.
In any event, there actually *were* problems with r12443 on the COMPILE-FILE.4 test (and subsequent COMPILE_FILE.* tests) but only under Windows. This has been fixed in r12448.
