Happy New Year everybody! Welp it seems my porting binge which started over the holidays isn't quite settling down yet... So. What are the chances of getting Portableaserve to work in ABCL? Note that I'm not asking if there are better ways of serving web from ABCL (I'm sure there are). I'm just asking specifically about portableaserve on ABCL. Any opinions if this is within the realm of possibility, or would there be some obvious show-stopper? I am having trouble getting certain aspects of a soap client working using abcl's java interop; most likely, this is the result of my ignorance of how certain things map from java to lisp. Any help would be appreciated! The soap service is defined by this wsdl: http://chatsubo.net/~raison/usaepay.wsdl. The provider has a java library available for download at http://wiki.usaepay.com/developer/soap-1.4/howto/javajaxws. I have been able to use this library successfully in abcl (creating objects, calling methods on those objects, etc.), except when I need to call any of the methods defined in the java.rmi.Remote UeSoapServerPortType interface. For example, the method addCustomer is defined in the files http://chatsubo.net/~raison/UeSoapServerBindingStub.java and http://chatsubo.net/~raison/UeSoapServerPortType.java. No matter how I try to find the method (using jcall or various combinations of jmethod and class refs), I simply cannot find this method. What am I missing here? We're approaching the "thirty days" timer for abcl-1.1.1. I would propose dusting off the readme versions, publishing abcl-1.1.1-dev as abcl-1.1.1-rc-0. I've backported from trunk what Rudi has fixed specific to (A)MOP (and therefore CLOSER-MOP). Need a locally patched Quicklisp for closer-mop, cffi, hunchentoot. I've started to dig through how to implement an "abcl" distribution for Quicklisp, but this will take more time than I probably have over the next few days (but who knows?). Excited to bring ABCL to Android, fix ANSI Streams, and more in 2013, Mark -- "A screaming comes across the sky. It has happened before, but there is nothing to compare it to now."

Here is a test case: CL-USER(1): (use-package :mop) T CL-USER(2): (defclass my-function (standard-generic-function) ((a-slot :initarg :a-slot :accessor a-slot)) (:metaclass funcallable-standard-class)) #<FUNCALLABLE-STANDARD-CLASS MY-FUNCTION {24DF7EA4}> CL-USER(3): (defgeneric test (x y z) (:generic-function-class my-function)) #<THREAD "interpreter" {14BAAEA8}>: Debugger invoked on condition of type TYPE-ERROR The value TEST is not of type LIST. The reason is that std-compute-discriminating-function is also called for subclasses of standard-generic-function that don't override compute-discriminating function. The specialization in std-compute-discriminating-function should only occur if the passed function is _extactly_ a standard-generic-function (or if it doesn't add any slots on top of standard-generic-function). By the way, we're getting closer (ha!). More and more test cases in my test suites work. I'm pretty confident that I can add full support for ABCL in Closer to MOP for the next version of ABCL.
