 There's a function `TMPDIR` in asdf-jar.lisp that AFAICT is never called.
 But there are also a couple of instances of `/var/tmp` hard-coded as
 defaults.

 I'm not sure this is a problem, per se, but it seems like an oddity.
 Stumbled on it while trying to make ASDF-jar work for me.
