I published this as ASDF 2.001, because it's 1- something I would have done for 2.000 2- innocuous and backwards compatible 3- necessary to get this functionality right 4- hard to do as a patch or add on 5- better included everywhere while it's possible
As for other things suggested by Stelian and others, I believe we should start to distinguish 2.0 and 2.1 branches, but I'll leave that to whomever steps forward to spearhead 2.1 development (I know Juanjo is interested but has no time right now).
