I've tried analysing this problem but I have no idea where it comes from, but the slime does work for me in the end.
I don't know what it all means; slime appears to have been working before this.
Does it fail for you?

Sorry, I lost track of this. It appears to work, though I haven't used it much. I found this bug again because I'm still encountering the error. emacs22 at 22.2+2-5; emacs21 uninstalled; slime 1:20080223-2.
