Greetings! Just a note that I have managed to reproduce and fix this on escher. cvs head now builds on alpha at the moment. gcl cvs is in a state of flux these days -- do you need a resolution soon? This was already discussed at http://lists.debian.org/debian-alpha/2005/09/msg00027.html , but without a resolution.

Since apparently this isn't reproducible on escher, I can offer an account on my machine if anybody wants to debug this.
