It appears that I forgot to set the gcc symlink back to gcc-4.3 before testing the gcc-4.2 built gcl on maxima. It appears that that version still fails when gcc is pointing to gcc-4.3, while a gcc-4.3 built gcl succeeds if I set gcc -> gcc-4.2. So it looks like it's the runtime version of gcc -> gcc-4.3 that's causing problems, not the version of gcc used to build. -- Daniel Schepler
