You can find lots of pages on how to convert a cvs repo to git, preserving history. I think I used svn2git (which supports cvs) to convert cmucl cvs to git. I messed up a few things like some cvs things that were branches didn't come out to be git branches. But they were for ancient things that I no longer cared about. Annoying, but that's life. -- Ray
