Hi, In the left sidebar of CMU CL home page, all URLs have a base URL of "http://www.cons.org/" but "http://www.cons.org/cmucl/". This caused all those links (Documentation, Download) are invalid. P. S. Why not register "cmucl.cons.org", just like what CLISP did. --binghe

Dear CMUCL implementors, below is the announcement for ASDF 2.016, as posted on the asdf-announce mailing-list, also accessible via its gmane mirror gmane.lisp.asdf.announce. Please have me take your list off my forwarding aliases if unappropriate. Can you upgrade your implementation to ship with the latest ASDF? Thanks! If you're still using 2.015 (or something even older), there have been many bug fixes, robustness, portability and upgradability enhancements and a few features implemented since. Also, the CLISP maintainers insist on having (require :asdf) not work and (require "asdf") work, whereas CMUCL does the opposite. Since the CLISP maintainers won't seem to budge, could you have CMUCL accept both? PS: I noticed you moved the mailing-list to common-lisp.net; the old address @cons.org seems to still exist, but rejects messages as my not being subscribed. Or do both addresses exist? Bummer. Just missed the snapshot by a couple of days. I'll update the current version (2.014.1) with 2.016 soon. Far> We recommend that you keep (require :asdf) working as well as (require "asdf"). Hmm. (require :asdf) works but (require "asdf") does not work. AIUI, you are now recommending that the latter be the correct way to load asdf all because of clisp. Every other lisp accepts the former. Why not just make an exception for clisp? I will need to investigate that how to make that work. This would also be an incompatible change. Ray

The June snapshot has been tagged and binaries will be available soon. Just a few minor changes this month: o :CMUCL is a *FEATURE* now. (I make that mistake a lot, even though I should know better.) o Bug fix for an error that occurs when opening a file containing an escaped "[" character. o Added -unidata switch to allow user to specify the full path to the unidata.bin file to be used. This change requires a cross-compile due to the new static symbol. Use boot-2011-04-1-cross.lisp as the cross-compile script. Ray
