Folks. I reactivated the CMUCL list after a wave of spam took down the machine doing @cons.org (as opposed to @cmucl.cons.org) with heavy disk I/O caused by mismatching spamfilters between the @cons.org forwarder and the ML software on @cmucl.cons.org Unless this causes great concern I would like to make @cmucl.cons.org The only supported bunch of addresses and not support @cons.org anymore. The forwarding means I tunnel some of my own spamfilters. If that's all right, whoever does the webpages would please need to adjust http://www.cons.org/cmucl/support.html However, *please* hide this in a gif or some javascript because the bombardment of the old addresses is just staggering and it comes from all those places on the web that have no or naive obfuscation. [cmucl-imp] August snapshot tagged

The August snapshot has been tagged and binaries will be uploaded shortly. The changes are pretty small this month and include a fix for type derivation for FLOAT, and optimizations for some x86 VOPS. Note also that we are switching the mailing list from cmucl-imp(a)cons.org to cmucl-imp(a)cmucl.cons.org. The old address will work for another month, but then it will go away. It also appears that gmane is already subscribed to cmucl-imp(a)cmucl.cons.org so we're set there. I will update the web pages shortly to the new address. Ray
