Hello, can you please tell me how to: 1. Initialize lisp environment in a thread that was already created by C/C++ app? Is it possible for it to share existing lisp environment? 2. Is accessing and modification of the shared lisp environment from a new thread made by (mp:process-run-function) threadsafe? For example I am running swank this way, is this a safe practice? 3. In the environment where only ECL is garbage collected: Calling ecl_base_string_pointer_safe(si_copy_to_simple_base_string(obj)) means that resulting C string will be eventually garbage collected? 4. Likewise (ffi:c-inline () () :cstring "...") returns the value via ecl_cstring_to_base_string_or_nil() which causes trouble when C side deallocates it, I presume? Regards, Juraj

ecl-16.1.2: new maxima testsuite failure

maxima-5.37.3 built with ecl-16.0.0 runs its testsuite without unexpected errors. When buils with ecl-16.1.2, it fails in Running tests in rtest8: ********************** Problem 104 *************** Input: ev(e5, au = 0, omega = 2) Result: - u quad_qawf(%e , u, 0, 2, sin, epsabs = 1.0e-10, limit = 32, maxp1 = 100, limlst = 10) This differed from the expected result: [0.4000000000000001, 2.216570948815925e-11, 175, 0] 162/163 tests passed Andrey

compiling ecl android on MacOSX

Hello, We cannot compile ecl for android on MacOSX, because *nm* is used by gmp configure instead of $PLATFORM_PREFIX/bin/arm-linux-androideabi-nm With NM=$PLATFORM_PREFIX/bin/arm-linux-androideabi-nm in ecl/src/configure:5630, it passes: checking how to define a 32-bit word... .long but I'm not sure it's correct to hard wire this NM in ecl/src/configure; isn't it generated from autoconf? embedding ecl without (build-program)

Hello, Is there is a way for ECL only to generate a bunch of .cpp files that can be fed to existing build system? I'm halfway there by generating C from my (ffi:c-inline) stuff like: (compile-file "src/common/lisp/lispinterface.lisp" :output-file "src/common/lisp/lispinterface.cpp"). But how do I initialize it on app startup? Looks like void init_fas_CODE(cl_object flag) should be called, but with what parameters? Some background: I am trying to embed ECL in a big C++ app with its own byzantine build system (ftjam with own layer on top of it). These C++ functions I am interfacing are not exposed externally (and I prefer not to), thus trying to load .fas file at runtime results in linker error. Also, I can't use (build-program) which won't work together with the build system. However, if (build-program) knows how to neatly pack whole initialization into one C function, that would solve the problem, too. Regards, Juraj

Dear all, we slowly prepare for the next relese and I think it's time to test things, if some changes didn't break builds etc., or if any serious regressions has happened. I would be grateful for performing tests with your configurations and on the architectures you run (the more of them better it is), then we'll have more complete picture what needs work. Conflicts when starting up various processes

Hi, We have a few different c++ projects with ecl embedded, which when starting up, have ecl compiling and loading quite a bit of lisp code. If we start the various processes close enough in time, conflicts occur while compiling the lisp code. All is good if I wait for the lisp compilations between starting each process, but this is troublesome to do in production. We believe this may be because the different processes might be using the same temporary folder for the compiled code or something of this nature. Is there any way to set the temporary path where ecl builds source code? Or some other hint you think might help? Many thanks in advance for your help, Diogo Franco

ld-flags on win

Hi all, I'm on my win64 build and I'm using asdf to define my system but with asdf:make-build or asdf:load-bundle-op the ld-flags option to link some additional static library to my fasl is not passed to the linker. So far I workaround with (si:setenv "_CL_" "bla bla bla") but it's not ideal. Am I doing something wrong or is a know issue? Kindest regards. bix P.S. ECL is so fun. Great job.
