[eclm] Saturday excursion and dinner

Hi everybody, We now know the starting time for the events on Saturday (October 22): - The excursion (a walk through Amsterdam with a guide) will start at 14:00 on Dam Square. It will last approximately 2 hours. - Dinner at Brasserie Harkema (http://www.brasserieharkema.nl/?lang=en) will start at 19:00. [eclm] ECLM 2011 deadline extension

Hi everybody, We've had a lot of additional registrations for the European Common Lisp Meeting 2011 since we sent our email a week ago and if everybody who has registered by now actually participates, we'll not end up with a loss or only with a very small one. Still, we wouldn't mind if a few more people would come and therefore we decided to extend the registration period a bit. You can now register until October 1 before the registration process is really closed for good. See <http://weitz.de/eclm2011/> for all the details. Also, there were a couple of people who spontaneously offered to send donations after we announced our potential loss. That was very kind and we're grateful for these offers - thanks a lot! Luckily, it looks like we won't need the money. Looking forward to seeing you all in Amsterdam, Arthur & Edi.

[eclm] Questions regarding accommodation and parking on ECLM 2011

Hello *, the conference hotel is uhm, a little high price (224,- inc. breakfast is the lowest offer) -- so I wonder if there are any good alternatives within in (best short) walking distance. Might the NH Tropen (Linnaeusstraat, 2c -- still not cheap but 22% less) be an option? Any other recommendations would be highly welcome! What about parking options at/near the hotels and the meeting? Another concern of mine is the dinner at Saturday: - I haven't seen any information on when the dinner starts, as I'm not taking part in the guided tour, when will we meet at the Brasserie Harkema? - What is the best way to get to and from the Brasserie Harkema? [eclm] ECLM 2011 - we need you!

Hi everybody, We'd like to remind everybody that it is still possible to register for the European Common Lisp Meeting 2011 in Amsterdam. We're sending this reminder because the number of registrations so far has been pretty low. In fact, it is far away from what we expected and used as the basis for our calculations. With 47 participants (as of September 7) we'll make a loss of almost 2,000 Euros and we'd need roughly 25 more registrations to not end up in the red. Maybe this email can convince at least some of those who haven't registered yet to change their minds. Or maybe you know someone you think you should forward this to. (Also, feel free to blog about it or use other means to disseminate this message.) I notice the page lists a SWIFT/BIC and IBAN number, but what is the local Dutch account number for a domestic transfer from another Dutch bank? [eclm] Lambda Express: travel from UK to Amsterdam for ECLM2011

hello all 3 of us from LispWorks are going to the European Common Lisp meeting and will travel by train to Amsterdam on Saturday 22 October, probably on the 08:57 Eurostar from London St Pancras via Brussels. Would you like to travel with us? If there's enough interest LispWorks could buy another "Lambda Express" group ticket which would allow us all to sit together and save a little money. Please reply with expressions of interest, as soon as possible, and definitely by the end of this week. The minimum number for a group ticket is 10 people. Journey details --------------- We'll probably choose this outbound journey (Sat 22 Oct): CBG STP ZYR ASD dep arr dep arr dep arr 06:45 07:52 08:57 12:03 12:18 15:09 So we won't make the Saturday pm tour, but will be in plenty of time to get to the evening meal. If we buy a group ticket, we'll consult re details of the return journey (Mon 24 Oct), before confirming the ticket. Cost ---- A group ticket is 10% cheaper per person than if individual tickets are purchased at the same time. If we bought a group ticket (return, standard class) for 10 people today, it would cost £93.50pp, whereas individual tickets are currently £104. It's likely we'll actually pay slightly more, as prices increase closer to the journey date.
