Hi ECLM participants,
At the end of the month the ECLM will take place in Hamburg. I am looking for not so expensive accomodation. I had hoped to book a room at instantsleep.de for about euro 25, but the rooms are already gone. Does anybody have information about cheap hotels, private rooms etc. which are recomended?
I am also thinking of taking a tent with me, but I am not sure yet.

Have you checked the youth hostels?

You'll probably have to phone them directly. Note that the second one is a bit off the city's center but you should be able to reach the meeting as well as the Saturday dinner easily with public transport.
The "Schanzenstern" hotels are also supposed to be quite inexpensive but I don't think you'll get a room for EUR 25 there.

The 3rd "accomodation" link at the ECLM website claimed that, a couple days ago, there was a room for ~EUR 30 right near the main train station. http://www.hamburg-travel.de/irs/TPortal/start.jsp?TOID=HHT&MODULE=MOD_V...
Right now, this website is down though (hmm, it uses JavaServer Pages... perhaps someone should point out how much they're losing due to downtime, and offer a more stable solution).
If anyone's having trouble finding a room, I'm staying at the nearby 25hours hotel in a double room that I'm using as a single. You can email me (tjg at pentaside.org, if you can't see my email address) and I'm sure we could work something out.
