Fwd: Please create a new release of source code archive
is there someone who knows how to make a release, and/or is willing to do one? ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Einstok Fair <einfair@zoho.eu> Date: Sat, Jan 27, 2018 at 11:40 PM Subject: Please create a new release of source code archive To: attila.lendvai@gmail.com Hello, I found your email in the output of $ darcs log patch 8e3164ce4db2468289cd426aa8a791d809df62ea Author: attila.lendvai@gmail.com Date: Tue Jan 23 18:39:55 MSK 2018 * more tests for the :previous bug I want to ask you to create a new source archive for this project. The previous one https://common-lisp.net/project/iterate/releases/ iterate-1.4.3.tar.gz 2006-05-06 15:55 285K was released 12 years ago. It is time to publish a new release. There is also a reason - that version 1.4.3 doesn't work with new sbcl 1.3.18 Thanks.
It looks like we just need to make a tarball, right? And we should put the :version metadata in iterate.asd. I don't think there's anything more that needs to be done, do you? I'm not in the iterate group on cl.net, so I can't do it myself. Best, R On 6 Feb 2018, at 17:19, Attila Lendvai wrote:

Hello,
I found your email in the output of
$ darcs log
patch 8e3164ce4db2468289cd426aa8a791d809df62ea Author: attila.lendvai@gmail.com Date: Tue Jan 23 18:39:55 MSK 2018 * more tests for the :previous bug
I want to ask you to create a new source archive for this project.
The previous one
https://common-lisp.net/project/iterate/releases/
iterate-1.4.3.tar.gz 2006-05-06 15:55 285K
was released 12 years ago.
It is time to publish a new release.
There is also a reason - that version 1.4.3 doesn't work with new sbcl 1.3.18
Thanks.
hehh... it turns out it was me who made the last release (12 years ago!), and i even created a bin/release.sh back then. so, i've made a new release. Einstock, please test it and let us know if there's any problem.
I don't think there's anything more that needs to be done, do you?
i had no idea to be honest... :) i just added the :version field, tarred it up with the script, signed the .tgz, and tagged the darcs repo. -- • attila lendvai • PGP: 963F 5D5F 45C7 DFCD 0A39 -- “If you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.” — Sun Tzu (c. 6th century BC), 'The Art of War'
