Hi Andrew,
Thanks for this report; I'll look into the issue more when I'm able to free up some time (I've very swamped right now).

Hello,
I am working with a gentleman by the name of William Heineman who kindly solved the dilemma of having the first line of the log-for message concatentated to the last line of a previous run.
There is a little-known bug in fresh-line which will not check for previous information when writing its first line to a stream. Using terpri seems to correct this issue and is how we modified log5.lisp to get a consistent new-line for every entry.
The difference made log5 practical for use and I thought I saw some effort in the file to figure out how to get around the issue. If you know of a better work-around/fix. I am all ears.
Thank you for all your hard work. Regards, Andrew Killinger
