Hullo from Greg Bennett who is running under Clozure "Version 1.11-r16810M (LinuxX8664)" I am using the code from the CLIM 2.2.2 User Guide to get a window (*test-frame*) and its associated pane (*test-pane*). Now I'm trying to set the position of the pointer in that pane. Once I've done this, I can them do things such draw-line from this position to another one. As far as I can see I need to use the material in CH 15: Manipulating the pointer in CLIM. So I have done this: (setf pprt (port-pointer (port *test-pane*))) -> #<CLIM-CLX::CLX-POINTER #x302003B9750D> (setf zpt (make-point 100 100)) Currently (pointer-position pprt) -> NIL P283-4 suggests I should be able to do something like the following: (pointer-set-position pprt 100 100) -> Evaluation aborted on #<CCL::UNDEFINED-FUNCTION-CALL #x..>. telling me that pointer-set-position in undefined. (setf (pointer-position pprt) zpt) also returns an error: no method for setf on pointer-position. I poked about in the CLIM Spec to no avail, perhaps because my approach is a wrong one. line thickness

Good morning from Greg Bennett I should like to reset the line thickness element of (medium-line-style *some-pane*) without essentially copying its other elements as arguments to (make-line-style new-one), making new-one's thickness my desired value, and then executing (setf (medium-line-style *some-pane*) new-one). I have a copy of the CLIM2 UG (ver 2.2.2 2005) and have not managed to discover a direct way to do this. Probably I'm not looking in the right place. Thanks for any ad all assistance Cheers /GB

mcclim on windows?

Implementing new backends?

Crowd-funding McCLIM development maybe?

Hello everybody, I am investigating the possibility of crowd-funding some work on McCLIM. The idea is to pay Daniel Kochmański to work on it around 10 hours per week for the foreseeable future. I can pitch in some of the cost for this myself, and I will probably pitch in all of it if nobody is interested in contributing. But the money I pitch in comes from my personal budget so it would be preferable to get some help. If some people would be willing to contribute around 50€ per month, it would not take many contributors to have a near-permanent effort. Smaller contributions would of course also be welcome. The work would initially consist of cleaning up the code as is already happening. Future work would consist of improving performance, adding new backends, creating a set of gadgets with a consistent look, fixing the current problems with mirrored sheets, improving the documentation, etc. But not necessarily in that order. If you are one of the people who would be interested in contributing, please send me an email with an approximate amount that you would be willing to contribute. I don't need a firm pledge. For now, I am just investigating whether this is a realistic idea or not. -- Robert Strandh
