From your path I'm guessing you're on mac? There is a tool called
"fontconfig" for linux. It could be that someone decided to call out to
that program, expecting it to be around. It's a guess, and I don't have
the source nor time to confirm at the moment. If someone don't have a
better suggestion it might be worth following up on.
