I attach a patch for consideration against mcclim (yeah, I know, I have commit access, but I'm rusty) which seems to fix the leaky gcontext problem in the CLX backend. There may well be an analogous problem in other backends (except the Null backend :-); I haven't investigated.
I've also got something like Andy's resourcealloc patch in my clx (not pushed yet), along with a fix for Shawn's resource ID issue. Wow, it's almost like being up to date...
