thanks .. but it really does require some hacking. i'm not familier (enough) with the mcclim-internals. when trying to run the example (view-directory "~") as suggested in the comments, i get the following error: #<COMMAND-TABLE-NOT-FOUND GROUP-VIEWER {B113131}> [Condition of type COMMAND-TABLE-NOT-FOUND] i really come to like mcclim, but unfortunately i dont have time to hack around deep down. alex
