[Mkcl-devel] [Bug] (coerce obj 'list) returns reversed list

Hi, there I found a bug. mkcl returns: (print (coerce "string" 'list)) ; => (#\g #\n #\i #\r #\t #\s) but CLHS http://clhs.lisp.se/Body/f_coerce.htm specifies `coerce` to return the same sequence as origin. [Mkcl-devel] MKCL 1.1.9 is now available

MKCL 1.1.9 is now available for general use. For the most part it is a compilation of minor bug fixes along with one notable sub-component upgrade, i.e.: the GC has been upgraded from bdwgc 7.2c to bdwgc 7.4 in hope it will be a better fit for the upcoming ARM/iOS/Android ports. One relevant change in the GC configuration happened on all MS-Windows versions where it is now hard configured to avoid the use of function SignalObjectAndWait since Microsoft has reneged on its promise of atomic behavior. If you observe a deadlock of MKCL 1.1.8 or earlier on MS-Windows 7 or later this would be a possible cause. You should then either upgrade to MKCL 1.1.9 or later, or set the environment variable MK_GC_MARKERS to 0 in order to prevent parallel marking and its use of SignalObjectAndWait. I hope that MKCL 1.1.9 will be the last in the MKCL 1.1.X line before the release of MKCL 1.2.0 in the coming months. Cheers, Jean-Claude Beaudoin

It looks like a case of bad optimizer applied by the compiler when (safety 0) is used. So, as a quick fix, if you have direct control over this you could raise the "safety" level to 1 or more (anything above 0) and the problem should disappear. I will investigate some more and fix the guilty optimizer shortly.

Hi, While trying to compile and load my personal project with ql:quickload I got a compilation error for cl-ppcre. I logged a issue with cl-ppcre in github and got an answer that MKCL compiler is broken somewhere and I need to fix it. Can anyone here please help me do that? [Mkcl-devel] porting to android

dear fellow MKCL hackers, so, i became interested in playing with mkcl, and looking into porting it to android. i suggest to set up a wiki where we can write up a highlevel roadmap, collect the issues, etc... MKCL 1.1.8 is now available

MKCL 1.1.8 is now available for general use. It is mostly a large bug fix compilation release but with the peculiarity that it was mainly driven by the need to upgrade bundled ASDF from ASDF 2.26 to ASDF 3.0.3. It has been quickly replaced by MKCL 1.1.8 after correction of a critical bug that was quietly present on all MKCL's platforms but severely affected MKCL on Windows Vista and Windows 7.

MKCL 1.1.5 is now available for general use. It is a bug fix compilation release that collects all changes currently committed to the MKCL git repository, please consult http://common-lisp.net/gitweb?p=projects/mkcl/mkcl.git if you need a detailed log. The creation of yet another bug fix release in the MKCL 1.1.X series is due to the fact that work on MKCL 1.2.0 has hit a bump recently and its release will be delayed by a few more months, making a bug fix release therefore relevant. Upon careful inspection of the major defining macros part of MKCL it was realized that a good number of them were not ANSI compliant but rather conformed to CLTL2 with a few still only CLTL1 or somewhere in between (but clearly not ANSI). To correct this situation macros defmacro, defsetf and deftype have been completely reimplemented. This effort is the cause of a two months delay in the evolution of MKCL 1.2.0.
