Hi all,
are there any meetings planned in Munich for the coming months? If not, would someone be interested in a meeting?
Best, Raju

Hello,
as far as I remember, a meeting was planned for last November and never took place :-/
Generally it works best for this user group if someone simply suggests a date — there doesn't seem to be a shortage of speakers or meeting venues, but the activation energy to get the group together is apparently quite high and a catalyst is needed ;-)
So, what about the second week of March (between 2011-03-07 and 2011-03-13)? Any volunteers for presentations?
I'm pretty sure I can organize a seminar room in the evening at short notice.
Ciao, Thomas
Hi there,
for me, to chose a date, I'd say 2011-03-08. Ok?

I'd prefer 2011-03-07 and could throw in some things about Clojure, but without fancy slides or anything because I'll have a busy weekend. Not sure whether I'll make it.
regards, Marek
March 7th or 8th work both for me.
Thanks, Raju

Ok, before everyone just posts a date to the list, let's use doodle:

Hello everybody,
did anyone see this:
07.03.2011 - AK-JUG
19:00 Uhr, Lokation: mgm
Clojure
Stefan Tilkov
http://wwwspies.informatik.tu-muenchen.de/gi/
It surly would not be a good idea to have a talk about the same subject at the same time... If possible, I would like to attend both this talk and another day in this week the UG meeting. Everybody from the Lisp UG can also go to Tilkov's talk. It's free as far as I know.

No, I didn't know. Sounds interesting, I think it is a nice occasion for Lispers to meet here. Especially as it is a Java User Group, to strengthen the Lisp-fraction there :)
regards, Marek
Yes, that sounds interesting. I think I'll attend the event.

The Clojure talk could be interesting and having Lispers at the Java Meeting could contribute to the discussion. But IMHO, a Lisp meeting is always the best place for Lispers to meet :-) So far there are 7 people on the poll (http://www.doodle.com/bqb2mxc32hd4r2qi) and the two common dates are 8/03 and 9/03. BTW, I can also give a lightning talk about some of the work I am doing now with Lisp.
Cheers, Jorge
Hi there,
let's fix a date. What about 9/03? Who's organising a venue?

I think the 9/03 is a very good date. From a previous message, Thomas Chust said he is able to book a seminar room so, I believe he can do that now :-)
Regarding talks, if anyone wants to present something should come forward. Otherwise, we could make a series of lightning talks where everyone could talk a little about of what they're doing with Lisp, or something interesting that is worth sharing, etc.
Cheers, Jorge
Sounds good, and I'm fine with 9/03.
Cheers, Raju

Hello,
since the doodle survey indicates the date is fine with everybody, I have reserved a seminar room in the Geophysics insitute (C406 in Theresienstraße 41) for Wednesday, 09th of March, starting from 18:00.
The next important question is, whether we have agreed on a topic, yet ;-)
Ciao, Thomas
Hello,
our meeting on Wednesday, 9th of March, is approaching, but as far as I recall, nobody volunteered to give a presentation, yet.
Maybe we could have some small lightning talks?
Ciao, Thomas
I'm just a Lisp beginner, there's not much I can contribute. Sorry.
But I look forward to meeting you.

Perhaps you could talk about your learning experience and if you're working on a personal project, you could describe it and get some ideas, advices, etc.
Cheers, Jorge
But I look forward to meeting you.

I think that's a good idea. I can talk about a CL library I started working on, urandom (a prng lib).
