At the ECL mailing list we have a gmane subscription (http://news.gmane.org/gmane.lisp.ecl.general) which works fine for those who do not want to subscribe but still are interested in the topics which are discussed -- and I believe the pro@ mailing list would be way more interesting than ECL's :-)
