I am concerned that alu.org (Association of Lisp Users), lisp.org and international-lisp-conference.org are all offline, and have been for at least several weeks.
The first two of these didn't really serve anything of use but the ILC site contained proceedings of several past conferences and shouldn't be lost.
Does anyone know what's going on? I can't write directly to the ALU because its site is down and so there's no contact list (and I imagine emailing @alu.org is like talking to a black hole).

Have you already tried email? Because it may work (SMTP servers are responding):

Writing to who @alu.org?
Is anyone from the ALU listening? Does it still exist?

Hi Nick,
The ALU still exists, and I am still a board member, although not an officer. Rusty is continuing to keep the offiicial Corporation documents up to date with the state of Virginia, etc.
The CLF had offered several months ago to provide hosting services for the ALU web properties (at reasonable out-of-pocket cost), but the ALU has yet to follow up with a specific green light to do that or content to host.
Robert Smith, current official ALU president, had to cancel the last several scheduled monthly ALU meetings due to a busy travel schedule (a couple times he was on airplanes at the time of the meetings). Last week, he had to cancel our meeting again, and also sent a note inviting someone else to take over the role of president. He didn't officially resign, but acknowledged the fact that his several attempts to get the ball rolling on the next ILC have not gotten much traction. If you'd like, I can ask Robert to forward that note to this list.
So that's what I know right now.
So far I haven't seen any responses to his email on the ALU lists (which I think are manually maintained as CC lists right now). I'm not sure what the next steps should be or by whom, but at least I wanted to pass on the small amount of news which I know.
Regards,
Dave

I wanted to access ILC content. Any chance of getting that up and running again?

Hi Nick,
I just included you on an email to some likely ALU website contacts. We'll see how they respond.
Regarding the ILC content, I found backups containing a most if not all materials for ILC 2002, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, and 2011. I should also have the contents for 2012 squirreled away somewhere.
Here's a reasonable archive of the 2012 site.
https://web.archive.org/web/20141120174250/http://international-lisp-confere...
For ILC 2014, the conference website was hosted on a different server, and the ALU site just had a link / redirect. I don't believe we ever got a copy of the 2014 site on the ALU server. Fortunately, the original site is still available.

Thanks, and you wrote in that email: "No one ever followed up with me in regards to the data... I haven't heard anything since then".
How very ALU.
I'm not really sure what they're *for* any more, but escaping from paper bags isn't high on the list.

Minor correction: That was my contact's response. Though I have had similar experience.

I will spend some time today looking for my latest copy and sprucing it up for public release. I don't feel comfortable releasing the raw backup, as it contains some things that were meant to stay private. This task may take some time, as work and daily life both have their own demands.
Will keep you posted on my progress.

The ILC and lisp.org websites are back up. ALU's isn't because it was an old Allegroserve instance, not static files.
Hi Stelian
http://international-lisp-conference.org takes you to the 2014 site (only). If you're in the know and append a year to that URL you get the raw aserve files for that particular outing. So not much gain yet. :(
As for lisp.org with its current content: who cares?

If you propose something better, I'm sure something can be done about it.

Ok. I had only checked 2011 and 2012, which are static files. It would be great if somebody could try to load those into a current Allegroserve and dump the pages as static html.
