[regex-coach] Possible regex coach bug in "Tree"

Hi I noticed a possible bug after completing the excellent "Tutorial". =========== Background: =========== I am running Windows XP Professional, SP 2 and am current on all "Windows Update" fixes. My machine is an HP Pavilion: CPU: AMD Turon 64 ML-37 Mem: 1 Gigabyte I am using "The Regex Coach" version 0.9.1. which I just downloaded and installed. I have never previously installed any versions of "The Regex Coach" The version of msvcr80.dll installed on my machine is 8.0.50727.42. =========== Problem: =========== My problem can be replicated as follows: 1. Enter (x*)b|a(y+)c in the "Regular expression" text box. 2. Enter xaacy in the "Target string" text box. 3. "Click" on the "Tree" Tab The "Parse tree" is shown correctly. 4. In the "Regular expression" text box a. Highlight "|a(y+)c" with the mouse b. Press the delete key - leaving only "(x*)b" The "Parse tree" now shows (incorrectly?) a combination of the regex entered in 1 above AND the edited regex entered in 4 above! Is this a problem/bug? [regex-coach] Trojan Horse suspect message from regex-coach list

I received an email from the list today that appears to be bogus. It has an attached file called file.zip (which I have not opened). AVG detected the Dropper.Generic_c.GH trojan horse in the file. The subject of the message is "[regex-coach] Mail System Error - Returned Mail" The body of the message is: > Dear user of common-lisp.net, > > We have received reports that your account has been used to send a large amount of unsolicited e-mail during this week. > Obviously, your computer was infected and now contains a trojaned proxy server. > > Please follow the instruction in order to keep your computer safe. > > Virtually yours, > The common-lisp.net team. [regex-coach] An error of type #TYP occured ....

Hello, When I try to save, using either of the menu options, the following error message is given. ---------------------------------------------------------- An error of type #:TYP occurred, arguments: (:EXPECTED-TYPE #:BAS :DATUM #\S :FUNCTION #:%SE) ---------------------------------------------------------- Any ideas? Yes, I think you assumption is very much incorrect. I see no particular reason why regular expressions should be somehow tied to the Unix world. Anyway, when the Linux version was still available, more than 95% of all downloaders opted for the Windows version. And virtually all feedback I ever received from Linux users was complaints about the program not being open source. I finally figured that there are better ways to waste my time. Cheers, Edi.

[regex-coach] Getting it going on linux

Hello, I am running a Debian flavour of Linux. I have installed from the tar but when I try to execute the file ( <Enter> while in Midnight Commander)I get the following message Error: Could not register handle for external module #:CAP: libXm.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I have a link on the desktop, with the .desktop file in /Desktop and properties set to point to the executeable, but no luck there either, a different problem that may be of my own making so will leave that there (can't find the executeable) My version runs fine on XP but I really need to get it going in Linux where I am working with Perl. I suppose that I am missing libXm.so2 so can anyone please point me to that. Thank you so much Anne ---- Anne Wainwright
