Trying to use regex to determine if my regexp are correct. When I use the shortened version it works fine. The long version hangs. The short version: relatedLayers=>\[([^,]+,?)+\],y=>1,z=>2 relatedLayers=>[MET1,MET2,MET3,MET4,MET5,], The long version ^boolean=>[ao][rn]d?,comment=>[^,]+,intraFigure=>[01],layer=>[^,]+,relatedLayers=>\[([^,]+,?)+\],relatedSpace=>\d+,square=>[01],value=>\d+$ boolean=>and,comment=>comment,intraFigure=>1,layer=>MET1,relatedLayers=>[MET2,MET3,MET4,MET4],relatedSpace=>20,square=>0,value=>50 I'm running v 0.9.0 on a Dell M65 (intel Core Duo )

Hi guys. Hopefully someone can help me. I have the following chunk of XML code. I need to extract the last section, from <w:p> to </w:p> (inclusive) in the section that contains the [INTRODUCTION] text. Here is my current attempt: <w:p>.*(?=<w:t>).*(?=INTRODUCTION).*(?=</w:t>).*?</w:p> Problem is, that regular expression grabs the entire chunk, not just the last section. [regex-coach] Regex Coach strings in Windows Registry

Do you know how I can independently update the "pane" values for Regex Coach without losing the linebreaks? If I import a .reg file (even one that's just been exported) Regex Coach's strings with carriage returns and linefeeds are either truncated or lost entirely. I want to pass strings from my editor into the registry, then open Regex Coach. Any suggestions? Thanks, Sheri

[regex-coach] regex not matching blank space after the beginning of the line?

Hi everybody, In the following examples the double-quotes are only included for clarity, I'm not actually entering them into The Regex Coach. Here are two regexes I'm trying: ##################### "\A*7[0-9][0-9]" "^*7[0-9][0-9]" ##################### And these are lines of data I'm trying those against: ######################## " 758" " 759" " 760" ######################## Now what I'm expecting (and want) to happen is the leading blank space(s) on the left of the numbers, as well as the three digit numbers themselves, to be highlighted as a match. What DOES happen with both regexes is that the three digit numbers are highlighted, but not the leading blank spaces. I'm using The Regex Coach v0.9.0 I have msvcr80.dll installed. I don't have the old manifest file anymore. I'm using Windows XP Pro, version 2002, SP2. I'm a very beginner to regexes, but I think what I'm "expecting" to happen is what should happen, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Does regex coach support lookahead? lookbehind? If so, can someone please send a sample? I have tried something like: my test(?<=something) but it just takes (?<= as a normal regex rather than as a boost type lookbehind. Thanks, Steve

Hi, I found the Regex-Coach an invaluable piece of code (I'm using it almost every days), and wanted to thank you about that. Looking at the CL-PPCRE dictionary[1], I saw that the (?{code}) and (??{code}) syntaxic forms were (obviously) not handled, but what about having the php variants (?R), (?1), (?2),... which don't imply any code pollution at the pattern level? BTW, this is really soon to come in perl5's next version[2]. In the same mood, it would be really nice to handle named capture with the help of the (?P<name>), (?P=name), and the related (?P>name) from python/php.
