[slime-devel] Updated docstring for DEFINTERFACE

The documentation string for the DEFINTERFACE macro in "swank- backend.lisp" seems to have gotten pretty far out of sync with what DEFINTERFACE does. This patch provides an updated docstring that is hopefully more accurate. Cheers, Matt

Hello all, I have somehow completely broked my slime or emacs. After doing M-x slime the *inferior-lisp* buffer is left on display and in minibuffer it says "Connecting to Swank on port NNNN..", but it doesn't proceed from there. I can do M-x slime-repl which will give me a *slime-repl nil* but then it refuses to show the arglist of functions. Since this is the other major feature of slime for me (the other being autocompletion, which works), I'd like to get it back. Any hints? I'm also missing the cheezy animation at start-up ... Taneli

Hi, I have tried the latest version of Slime from CVS and found that it does not like Unicode. When I try to do something like (format nil "<unicode text goes here>") It reports an error that the characters can not be presented in iso-latin-1-unix encoding. However, when I changed "slime.el" a bit by adding utf-8-unix (defvar slime-net-coding-system (find-if 'slime-find-coding-system '(utf-8-unix iso-latin-1-unix iso-8859-1-unix binary)) "*Coding system used for network connections. See also `slime-net-valid-coding-systems'.") it started to work just fine. Is there any good reason for using Latin-1 instead of UTF-8?
