C-c C-c'ing the following (defun foo () ,quux) used to pop up SLDB, but doesn't anymore. The function FOO is not highlighted in the source buffer. The compilation error printed to the REPL looks pretty unreadable, too. This is on SBCL. -T.

[slime-devel] Problem with truncation of strings in debugger

When I evaluate (format t "~A" (some-str-function)) on a longish string in debugger with E, the string is printed truncated, which seems like the wrong behavior to me. Also, surprisingly when I evaluate (setf *str* (some-str-function)) from debugger, the string stored in *str* is truncated as well. That suggests to me that the debugger is modifying the behavior of (format nil ...) or other functions I use in constructing strings used internally in my program, which would obviously be very bad and could interfere with operation of the program. I'm using SBCL 1.0.20 on Linux (and cvs slime) btw.

[slime-devel] [patch] Inspector showing hashtable keys in sorted order

The inspector currently shows hash table keys in the implementation's internal order. With the attached patch, if the keys are all strings/symbols, or all numbers, they are shown in sorted order. That makes it easier to analyze the entries. - Willem

SWANK-BACKEND::WARN-UNIMPLEMENTED-INTERFACES does correct filling in SBCL and CMUCL. It does not do any filling on CCL. The filling on Clisp is suboptimal. -T. PS: Instead of the (pprint-newline :fill) [~:_] in ~:<~{~A~^ ~:_~}~:> perhaps a use of ~:@> would imply it.

[slime-devel] contrib/slime-compiler-notes-tree.el doesn't provide 'slime-compiler-notes-tree feature

Hi all, The newly-refactored slime-compiler-notes-tree.el provides the feature 'slime-complete-notes-tree rather than 'slime-compiler-notes-tree, which makes it impossible to load using `slime-setup'. From the file comment (which refers to slime-complete-notes-tree.el), I assume that this is because the filename changed during development. James

Hi, The attached patch modifies slime-beginning-of-symbol and slime-end-of-symbol to take into account symbols containing the @ character. This allows, among other things, symbol completion and arglist echoing for these symbols. Chaitanya

[slime-devel] slime-pretty-package-name and basic cases

I've run into an issue with slime-repl-set-package and the latest Slime from CVS. When I call slime-repl-set-package, I immediately see "FALL THROUGH" in the minibuffer. Looking at the code, it seems to be a result of the call to slime-pretty-package-name which signals an error with "FALL THROUGH" when none of the cases match. If I trace slime-pretty-package-name, I get 1 -> slime-pretty-package-name: name="COMMON-LISP-USER" and sure enough, a direct call to the function with "COMMON-LISP-USER" results in the "FALL THROUGH" error being signalled. However, if you evaluate (slime-pretty-package-name "\"COMMON-LISP-USER\"") you get back "COMMON-LISP-USER". Should slime-pretty-package-name be matching "basic" names like this? Currently, it seems to only match strings prefixed with the hash ("#"), double-quote or whatever is defined for slime-reader- conditionals-regexp. -- Geoff
