[slime-devel] Standard output no longer appears in REPL

It's been a couple of months since I last used SLIME. Today I noticed that when I evaluate expressions in the REPL that write to *standard-output*, the output appears in the *inferior-lisp* buffer, but not in the REPL as it used to. I'm using GNU Emacs on Windows atop the CLISP Cygwin build. SLIME is up to date with CVS. Is there some new configuration required to restore the old behavior with output streams feeding into the REPL output? -- Steven E. Harris

Hi, all, I've been using Slime on top of Franz ACL for quite a while. My experience with Slime is very positive and I like Slime better in every aspects except in following situations. 1. Slime debugger: It prints bunch of Slime (swank: ..... ) related messages that I'm not interested. It's always hard to trying to comb through messages that I'm interested. How can I turn Slime related messages off? 2. While debugging, evaulating expression does not print anything but only the retuned result. Can I have it print to the standard output, i.e., console? 3. Lack of REPL command: Franz Eli supports REPL commands, for example, ":proc" for listing processes, ":pa" to change package and so on. Is there way to add them in? Thank you very much and I appreciate your efforts making Slime the best list-emacs interface. -chris

[slime-devel] Emacs freezes completing keyword

Hello, I think I found a bug. Emacs freezes every time I input ":something <TAB>" in Slime REPL, i.e., whenever I try to autocomplete a keyword from the REPL. It also seems to happen in other buffers as well. Autocompleting "normal" symbols seems to be working fine. Gustavo.

[slime-devel] Windows + CLisp: wrong path separator?

Hello, I'm trying to run SLIME (snapshot of 2010 July 06) with native (that is, not Cygwinized) CLisp 2.49. When I started SLIME, CLisp complained it couldn't find "swank-loader.lisp" with provided full path, which had backslashes. Therefore, I setted `slime-backend' to full path of `swank-loader.lisp', but using slashes, and that worked. Now, CLisp complains that it can't find the directory: - OPEN: Directory #P"C:\\DOCUME~1\\USERR~2\\IMPOST~1\\Temp\\" does not exist Such directory does exist. Should I replace backslashes with slashes here too, maybe? But I don't know what variable to set. My setup is like this: (setq inferior-lisp-program "C:/Programmi/clisp-2.49/clisp.exe -K full") (setq slime-net-coding-system 'iso-latin-1-unix) (require 'slime) (slime-setup '(slime-fancy)) Any hints? I have a problem with slime. [slime-devel] my sldb is not working as well as it used to

Some time ago I noticed my SLDB (slime debugger) stopped working in a few ways. Some examples: v - should view source for frame, now says "no frame at point" always n - should go down to the next frame, now just moves the cursor past all the frames below the --more-- line [RET] - should expand or unexpand the frame to show locals, but now just does nothing, no error message Things like that. I've thought this might go away with sufficient updating of emacs/slime/lisps (CCL or SBCL), but I seem to be pretty much up-to-date on all. I think I run a pretty standard SLIME setup, which is basically to do (require 'slime) (slime-setup '(slime-fancy)) in my emacs init file. Can anyone tell what might be going on or offer any helpful advice? Mark
