Hi, Did something recently change in the tab completion behavior at the REPL? In order for completion to find a symbol in the current package I need to prefix it with the (current) package name. Many thanks! Cheers, David

[slime-devel] ",quit" Command

Hi, I've just upgraded SLIME to CVS HEAD and ",quit" started to not work as it was before. Typing ",quit" in the REPL closes the inferior lisp process and *inferior-lisp* buffer, but doesn't close *slime-repl sbcl* buffer. There just appears "Connection closed." message. >From the mailing list, I see that there are some changes related with REPL code. (AFAIK, it has moved to contrib.) But I couldn't figure out a solution to the problem I mentioned above. Any helps will be appreciated. Regards.

Hi, I just (re) setup my slime environment with clozure lisp today. I notice that the environment seems different. I used to M-x slime and get the animation, resulting in a CL-User prompt. Has something changed ? I get something like this now ... [slime-devel] SLIME dies upon start

Hi, Updated SLIME inadvertently today (as a dependency) and now the REPL seems to be broken. I tried adding `slime-repl' to the `slime-setup' line, as the first in the list, but that made no difference. As soon as the REPL starts, here's what I see: ; SLIME 2008-12-23 CL-USER> Then this message shows up in the minibuffer, immediately after the welcome message: Lisp connection closed unexpectedly: connection broken by remote peer According to *inferior-lisp*, the error is triggered by this: dispatch-event: (:EMACS-REX (SWANK:CREATE-REPL NIL) NIL :REPL-THREAD 6) The condition: condition: The assertion SWANK::THREAD failed. type: SIMPLE-ERROR encoding: NIL style: :SPAWN dedicated: NIL Let me know if I've left out any crucial information. [slime-devel] emacs-nt+slime+cygwin+clisp: how to set the DISPLAY variable?

Hello, I am running emacs +slime (2008-09-28) on windows and clisp on cygwin. I would like to use gnuplot. If I call gnuplot from clisp which comes with cygwin, it opens a gnuplot window. But not if I call it from slime. gnuplot states : unable to open display ''. Looking at environment variables that Emacs gets and passes to subprocesses, there is no DISPLAY variable. So it seems that gnuplot did not get a value of DISPLAY. I guess I could create a windows variable DISPLAY so that emacs inherits it and passes it to its subprocesses (and clisp). But is there a way to do that from within slime? Thank you, Mirko

I installed slime, and SBCL for windows, and it works fine, except for the REPL. Everything works great until I do something to cause an error, when I do, the debugger fires and gives me my options, and no matter which one I choose, nothing happens. The CL-USER> prompt doesn't come back, it just hangs up, and any thing I type results in it saying "; pipelined request... (swank:listener-eval "d". Is there any way to fix this? This really sucks. I'm sure it's something to do with SBCL because the windows port is experimental, just shooting at the chance of there being a fix for it. Thanks -Rayne
