[slime-devel] alternative SLIME-DEBUGGER-HOOK

The new SLIME debugger always reports a "Use Default Debugger" restart as restart 0. This is confusing to my muscle memory which has been trained to 0 for the first restart expected from the lisp program being evaluated. Also, almost always, I never wish to invoke the native debugger from [or vice versa for which I set set swank:*global-debugger* to nil when my lisp is running outside Emacs or has its own IDE.] If nobody is using this option, or it was introduced for debugging slime, it may be better to turn it off. An `invoke native debugger' restart may be useful in the case where invoke-slime-debugger signals an error. That code is more complex. [slime-devel] SLIME can not compute backtrace in ECL

Hello. Test case: start slime with ECL and compute in the REPL bufer: (/ 1 0) Instead of showing SLDB buffer emacs reports: error in process filter: Wrong number of arguments: nil, 0 This happens because stack frames list in the :debug message received from swank is empty. Corresponding changes were committed at August 12, 2008. I do not know what the proper fix will be, but at least reverting EVAL-FOR-EMACS as in the diff attached makes the SLDB buffer with stack trace appearing. Best regards, -Anton

[slime-devel] slime-thread-attach broken

Slime-thread-attach is broken at the moment. It's passing NIL as process to slime-read-port-and-connect, but even after changing that to (slime-inferior-process), the SWANK side will stuck in a failed assertion in HANDLE-REQUESTS. -T.
