[slime-devel] Problem getting slime working

Hi I was wondering if I need to do anything more than "M-x slime" to load slime? It seems to work because it creates the *inferior-list* buffer but it doesn't seem to ident code I write in other buffers or add the extra SLIME key bindings. I am running debian (etch) with emacs21 slime and clisp. Thanks

[slime-devel] Slime filename completion for filenames with spaces

Attached below are two small changes that allow slime to complete filenames that have spaces in them. Filename completion is great--I admit to being mystified for a moment when I (unconsciously) hit tab while typing source code and slime did what I meant. The caveat is that with this change slime will try to complete any quoted string as a filename... but for me, the filename completion is worth it. Finally, the diff is against a slightly old version but I checked against the latest CVS version and the relevant lines of code haven't changed. Also I'm using a ~May 2006 build of Emacs from CVS. [slime-devel] 'Hint' text not appearing reliably in command line

I'm not sure what you call it, but the text that appears in the command line/buffer that shows the value of the current symbol or the completions of the current function/form? Anyway, after cvsupping 2 days or so ago, the text no longer appears when in should. It usually works for a little while, then stops. Is it possible a recent change has broken this feature at the moment? Jonathon McKitrick -- My other computer is your Windows box.

[slime-devel] Very odd cross-referencing problem.

SLIME has been working perfectly for me for some time. But the other day, I encountered some odd behavior. I hit M-. for slime-edit-definition. The function was a simple one, in another file in the project. But the busy mouse pointer appeared, my notebook cooling fan came on, and SLIME ran until memory was exhausted about 2 minutes later. SBCL totally crashed, and dropped into it's own debugger. For all the other functions in the exact same file, there is no problem. On my other system, no problem. Now I'll try to fill in some details: SBCL 0.9.15~ Ubuntu Dapper Drake Emacs gtk-snapshot CVS SLIME (from last week) Because my app is a web app and I've had issues connecting with SLIME, I generally start SBCL in a terminal, load the project, then run slime-connect in emacs, and this works fine. Once the operation begins to consume CPU and memory, I can disconnect within emacs to stop it from totally crashing, then I have to start over. This happens ONLY on my Linux box, not my MacBook. Hi, I noticed, that C-c C-d ~ doesn't support the % and & format directives. [slime-devel] SLIME difficulty with SBCL 0.9.15 on OS X/Aquamacs 0.9.9d

Hi, all, I recently installed the latest CVS tarball, and when I try M-x slime, I see a lot of stuff in the *inferior-lisp* buffer that looks like it's setting things up normally. However, partway though, I see this: ;; Error while loading: /Users/mtp/.slime/fasl/2006-10-26/sbcl-0.9.15- darwin-ppc/swank.fasl ;; Condition: unknown &KEY argument: :WEAKNESS ;; Aborting. ; ; compilation unit aborted ; caught 1 fatal ERROR condition and it never finishes loading.
