Hello Helmut: When I run the test, ./test.sh -S emacs sbcl I get one unexpected failure. [slime-devel] eldoc and xemacs

For a long time, slime has disabled slime-autodoc (eldoc) when running on xemacs. I don't know what has happened, but slime-autodoc works fine now with the xemacs' version of eldoc. (I had been using a ported version of emacs eldoc that worked fine with slime-autodoc.) Can that be removed now? I'm probably the only one left that cares. :-) Ray

[slime-devel] fixing comment-column bug

Hi, Could someone please fix https://bugs.launchpad.net/slime/+bug/889686 ? Emacs 24 is picky about comment-column not being an integer and this breaks quite a few things, including paredit's M-;. Replacing NIL with eg 40 or any integer value in (setq comment-column nil) would be a sensible solution. Not setting the value would also work. Best, Tamas

[slime-devel] Possible font-lock or other enhancements to aid with quasi quotation?

I was just wondering if anyone has come up with any helpful elisp or slime/swank customizations that are helpful to edit quasi quoted expressions (and therefore authoring macros). I tend to get lost when things get much more deeply nested than ,', and so forth, and I was just thinking how useful it would be if there were some visual cues to help identify/correlate ' with the operative , and to indicate where the position of the cursor or current form represents in the layers of quotation -- maybe somewhat analogously to the concept of highlighting of the s-expression for paren matching. Such a thing is probably pretty far beyond my current level of emacs skill, but I'm interested in any ideas or perhaps reasons why such a thing isn't practical, if that is the case.
