[slime-devel] cmucl multithread problem

Using cmucl 18e and a CVS from a couple of days ago. (mp::startup-idle-and-top-level-loops) from slime-repl hangs slime-repl but works when ran from inferior-lisp (slime-repl still works afterwards). Upgraded to latest CVS and now the inferior-lisp is taken up by the slime server, while before I was able to use both inferior-lisp and slime-repl. Hacked a fix in slime.el but is nonportable. [slime-devel] Why not use system:add-fd-handler in cmucl?

The create-swank-server function in swank-cmucl.lisp has been changed from doing: (system:add-fd-handler fd :input #'accept-connection) into just doing: (accept-connection fd) This means one must enable multi-processing to run slime. I /think/ the former method is more efficient, but I guess that's marginal. The fact that local set up can more easily break slime is a real downside though. So what's the upside to this change?

[slime-devel] Non-member posting disabled.

Ahoy, I have disabled non-member posting to slime-devel. This hopefully avoids spam. The really annoying thing about people spamming slime-devel is that if a subscriber's MTA recognises the spam and bounces it, then mailman will see the "permanent failure" and disable that person's subscription. Very annoying, though good in the sense of "pushing the spam responsibility back towards the source". I do want to allow postings from non-members via Gmane, however. Hopefully this works automatically. If you are reading this mail (which I assume you are), then it definitely does, because I posted this via Gmane from an unsubscribed address. If you are not reading this mail, then it doesn't work, and I apologise for having wasted your time.

[slime-devel] extended apropos

when i us apropos i often only sorta kinda maybe know what i'm looking for, i've always wanted an apropos which allowed me to be a bit more selective in my searches and not have to be so damn precise in the spelling. this is my attempt at such an apropos.
