If the ALU can do it then so can we :-). It would be nice to get some feedback to understand which backends are getting the most/least usage and which ones are flaky.
So if you are an active SLIME user and you have a moment then please reply to this mail (send the reply to the list).
Questions:
Which Lisp versions do you use SLIME with?
SBCL CVS, OpenMCL 0.14.2
Which Emacs versions?
GNU emacs CVS from November, 21.3.1
How well does SLIME work for you?
SLIME is a great tool. It works to my satisfaction most of the time, and much of what annoys me when using it is the fault of Emacs itself.
What bugs (reproducible or otherwise) or missing features annoy you?
The behavior of the completions window is constantly annoying - it doesn't go away, and when I do close it, Emacs sometimes inscrutably decides to give the frame to a buffer that wasn't there before the completions window pops up. In general, Emacs' behavior with buffers is annoying, but the completion window is more annoying than most.
Is there some packaging system (e.g. Debian) that you would like to see SLIME 1.0 bundled with? If so, do you know how to coordinate this?
Nope
If you said anything negative above then please say something nice here to make us feel good:
Sorry, my quota of nice things is expired for today :-)
