Well, I tried the Complete Idiot's Quick Fix (upgraded every package on my box & rebooted), and now SLIME is working. Perhaps there was some subtle interaction with another software package; it'd have been nice to figure it out, but it's even nicer to be able to get some real work done:-) -- Robert Uhl <http://public.xdi.org/=ruhl> Beat the plowshares back into swords.
