I just installed slime fresh from CVS on OS X using Aquamacs When I try

(require 'slime) (require 'slime-autoloads) (slime-setup '(slime-scratch slime-editing-commands slime-repl slime-c-p-c slime-autodoc slime-editing-commands))

and start slime (using M-- M-x slime and allegro), I get a happy *inferior-lisp* but no REPL. If I try using sbcl instead, the same thing happens. I don't have time right now to fuss and futz with slime setup; I'm not sure why what I'm doing isn't working and the HTML manual isn't much help.
