[slime-devel] Protocol version mismatch "error" upon startup after CVS update

Hi all: I now get a Protocol version mismatch error when starting Slime. This is after updating today from CVS... Never had this before. Googling revealed no solution. I found some info on a change but .... Hey, I even removed all .fasl files manually - error persists. Hm?? Thx for info. And: Merry Christmas! Frank

That happened to me too. I also removed all .fasl files but the error still persisted. However, when I re-started emacs, the problem disappeared and everything works fine now. - Bill

the error happens when the .lisp files have been recompiled but slime.el hasn't been reloaded. one solution to this, works unless defvar values have changed, is to just reload slime.el. restarting emacs is even more effective. -- -Marco Ring the bells that still can ring. Thanks to all: Restarting Emacs worked. Best wishes Frank Am 24.12.2006 um 20:32 schrieb Marco Baringer:
