The attached patch modifies slime-beginning-of-symbol and slime-end-of-symbol to take into account symbols containing the @ character. This allows, among other things, symbol completion and arglist echoing for these symbols.

I rewrote the functions in questions, and added a test case that tests for beasty symbol names. It should work now in CVS. Thanks for the report!, -T.
