A colleague at ITA wrote a lot of docstrings and comments for slime code. What is the best way to get them reviewed and either merged upstream or rejected? I'll try to merge the changes and send a patch shortly.

Sending it as a patch is good way.
And how does one get commit privileges?
For write access to the contrib/ directory, just ask. For the rest: by invitation.
