This problem shows up if you use color-theme.el. (Say) M-x color-theme-high-contrast results in the following error:

``face-attribute: Wrong type argument: symbolp slime-repl-inputed-output-face''

The following appears to fix it by fixing the :inherit properties (I havent checked against all emacses)
