Out of curiosity, is anyone thinking of attending this year's International Lisp Conference?
It's being held at MIT, and the lineup looks very interesting.

Looks interesting! Anyone going?
The cost is quite reasonable: US$210 early registration fee. Conference rate for the hotel is $135 per night at the official hotel (Hyatt) and the conference goes Sunday - Wednesday.
If someone can share a hotel room the cost comes to 210+135*5/2 about US$550 + food & gas and 9 hours of driving to get there...

I'll be going.
I think you meant 210 + 135 * 3 / 2 ≈ $412 (i.e. 3 nights, not 5).
It seems like the best option (for one) is flying. Driving (including renting, gas, insurance, interstate tolls, parking in Boston) would actually be more expensive than flying. Bus or bus/train combos are a little less expensive but run anywhere from 3 to 4.5x the travel time. If the driving costs were split amongst multiple drivers, probably a better deal but will take 2x the travel time. Anyone else going?

I put 5 nights because if I were to drive, I'd arrive on Saturday and leave on Thursday (it's 10 hours to drive with all stops for lunch and etc).
For this kind of trips, I usually use my own car (not rent), so it always comes out quite cheaper than flying. Gas is quite inexpensive and will come to about $120 total for round-trip; parking should be covered by the hotel and other expenses are not that significant.
All in all, especially if hotel costs can be split, this is a relatively inexpensive trip...
There's a possibility that I might be away on a consulting project in March. If this does not work out, then I'm going.
