I'll see if I can figure this out myself, but here's the case:
$ cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@common-lisp.net:/project/cl-ppcre/cvsroot
login
Logging in to
:pserver:anonymous@common-lisp.net:2401/project/cl-ppcre/cvsroot
CVS password:
$ cvs -z3 -d :pserver:anonymous@common-lisp.net:/project/cl-ppcre/cvsroot
co cl-ppcre
cvs server: warning: cannot write to history file
/project/cl-ppcre/cvsroot/CVSROOT/history: Permission denied
cvs server: Updating cl-ppcre
cvs server: failed to create lock directory for
`/project/cl-ppcre/cvsroot/cl-ppcre'
(/project/cl-ppcre/cvsroot/cl-ppcre/#cvs.lock): Permission denied
cvs server: failed to obtain dir lock in repository
`/project/cl-ppcre/cvsroot/cl-ppcre'
cvs [server aborted]: read lock failed - giving up
Iirc there have been similar problems before, right? What's the usual
cause?
Cheers,
