Stelian Ionescu's GitHub repo -- https://github.com/lispci/fiveam -- seems to be the live source. It has patches from 2020, but the repo on cl.net hasn't been updated for 8 years. Might be better to just remove it, since it functions only to make it harder to find the authoritative repo. Best, R

Mailing list instability

Hi, Over the past weeks, mailing lists have shown to be unstable. Before, this was caused by Mailman being unstable (we run on mailman2, which is very much outdated). However, futher investigation turned up a different root cause this time: due to parallel startup by systemd, the virusscanner (amavis-new) wasn't correctly acquiring the hostname of the VM, which caused it to fail to start, which caused most of the mail flow to stop. Migrating common-lisp.net to the next Debian version

Hi, Yesterday, Philipp Marek and I have worked on a clone of the current common-lisp.net host to resolve some outstanding issues in the migration of the VM to the latest Debian version (Bullseye. For the purpose of validating the validity of the migration, we're looking for help: specifically, we want to assert correct operation of services that people care about. So, if you have any particular services you're dependent upon, we'd like you to step up (before 2021-09-10 end of day) by replying to this e-mail and help validate the test machine between then and 2021-09-17. It's our goal to migrate the main machine to the new O/S before 2021-09-26. Please state which services you would like to help test (and if you have ideas on how, that's a good way to kickstart our efforts). Hi I was porting some code to CL which has many for .. { if ... *continue*; ... } What is the best way to render this with LOOP? (No ITERATE please.) Must we wrap the LOOP with a TAGBODY? Gitlab groups and publishing static web pages

Hi in the old days, when you created a project on CLNET you would also create a UN*X group with the project name. That seems sensible to me. Gitlab can create "groups" (I do not know how this is related to the UN*X groups) and I would like to use the feature, but it seems that it is disabled in the CLNET instance. Could it be turned on? Finally. I never remember how to post a set of static pages (created with HELambdaP) on the site. The instructions are not that helpful. Can anybody help?
