Unable to push to f2cl or merge requests

I used to be able to push commits to the master branch all the time. But in the last month or two something has changed and when I try to push a change to master, I get the message: remote: GitLab: You are not allowed to push code to protected branches on this project. To common-lisp.net:f2cl/f2cl.git ! [remote rejected] master -> master (pre-receive hook declined) I see that master is a protected branch. (I don't remember changing that or if it was always protected.) So I created a merge request <https://gitlab.common-lisp.net/f2cl/f2cl/merge_requests/3> <https://gitlab.common-lisp.net/f2cl/f2cl/merge_requests/3> Now it says I have to go find someone with write access to merge the request. Oddly, just a month ago, I successfully merged the requests https://gitlab.common-lisp.net/f2cl/f2cl/merge_requests/2 and https://gitlab.common-lisp.net/f2cl/f2cl/merge_requests/1. As the owner, I would think I have enough rights both to push to the protected branch and to merge my own merge requests. Time to consolidate static project pages into GitLab?

Hi all, Since the inception of Common-Lisp.net, we have offered projects the option to log in on the host through ssh connections to manage their hosted project pages (https://common-lisp.net/project/*) As off December 2016, GitLab - the software we use to provide the majority of the repositories on the site - includes a hosting offer for static pages: https://about.gitlab.com/2016/12/24/were-bringing-gitlab-pages-to-community… I've not studied the functionality in depth, but I'm wondering: would the time have come to start moving the project pages into GitLab by using this offering and start moving away from having OS-based accounts? cmucl-cvs list not working

The cmucl-cvs mailing list (misnamed since it's really the git commit list) no longer seems to be working. I did do one minor tweak to modify a user who should have been getting commit messages, but wasn't. Not sure if that was coincidental or not, but I'm no longer getting any commit messages at all. Administrator passwords for eager-future-devel and parenscript-devel mailing lists

Hello, I want to move the Parenscript mailing list back to common-lisp.net from Google Groups. It turns out I do not have the administrator passwords for parenscript-devel anymore, or eager-future-devel either. Can someone please reset the administrator passwords for the two mailing lists? Leaving the passwords in a file in my home directory will work to communicate them. Thank you, Vladimir

Automatic closing of gitlab issues with references in comments

Dear clnet maintainers, According to this: https://about.gitlab.com/2016/03/08/gitlab-tutorial-its-all-connected/ a reference to an Issue, e.g. git commit -a -m"Fixes #154" should automatically close said issue in the Issues list. It doesn't seem to be doing this currently in gitlab.common-lisp.net. Hi all, Microsoft's mail services are a tough party to work with. While GMail uses a moving average system to block mail (in the sense that they never *completely* shut down a sender, but monitor the quality of the mail stream coming from it, even if it's 99.9% shut down, Microsoft will simply kill off the entire mailflow, disabling the possibility of automatic rehabilitation. Today I had to ask Microsoft to delist us (this unfortunately happened before, so I could say "again"); the reason is that we have a relatively large number of moderators subscribed to Microsoft sevices. Why is this a problem? Well, Mailman will stubbornly try to deliver moderation reminders, even if the reminders have been rejected by the MS mailserver for suspect virusses. With very few actual subscribers on MS infrastructure, these reminders constitute a high percentage of our mail flow to e.g. outlook.com. How can you help? 1. As a moderator, you could use another mail account than an MS account to do your moderation 2* If you don't feel like moderating your mailing list anyway, turn off moderation by plain rejecting all mail which would otherwise need moderation (most notably posts by non-members) 3. Please act on your moderation requests so we don't generate endless reminders (presumably with spammish or other bad content) * Or tell us that you don't -- we know how to configure your list accordingly What we did to help: 1. We re-instated our mail virusscanner -- which we used to run, but apparently didn't anymore 2. Some emails getting bounced

Hi, Mario noticed that his mails to common-lisp.net were being bounced. I also noticed that mail to dcooper(a)common-lisp.net is bouncing. I'll forward the bounced message. Is this a known problem?
